Using our extra day

Every four years, most of us get the opportunity to give a little something back to our employers in the form of a free day of work. What? You did not realize you were making such a donation? That’s right – every leap year, all salaried employees give a free day of work to their employers. If I had not chosen to become self-employed seven years ago, I would be making my 12th such donation. Conversely, self-employed people only give back to themselves each February 29th. However, in both cases the opportunity exists to use this extra day in a value-added manner.
